Absolute favourite autobiography of all time so far! Im not really sure what non-little house fans would think of it, but because I've been a fan for like a decade, I knew who Nellie was and I wanted to see who Alison Arngrim is.
I actually bought this book without reading it at the library first, but I had a lot of confidence in it, and I was proved right!
And she took me by surprise! Not only was she hilarious and deeply sarcastic, she was open with everything that had happened to her and was 100% honest. It was definitely a book I laughed out loud at, which takes a lot for me! I have a whole new respect for Alison Arngrim.

Alison is a great writer, I was captivated by every bit of this book. I loved the stories from the set of LHOTP, I loved reading about Hollywood in the 70s, what it was like off camera being a child star, and I love how warmly she spoke about Steve Tracy. Mostly I loved how appreciative she is of having played Nellie and realizing what that allowed her to do and be personally.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this book as I hated Nellie on Little House on the Prairie but she had me hooked in the first chapter! She is a wonderful writer and has had a life that would haunt and hinder most children. She is a funny, life-loving person and her book is a must read. I grew to love and understand her by the end of the book!
Well, not sure what I expected, but it was like reading a very long People magazine article. Okay for what it was, but I'm glad I borrowed it from the library and didn't,t spend money on it.

Loved this so much. Who knew Arngrim was so darn funny????
I enjoyed this book, didn't love it though like I thought I would. I admire Alison for surviving a difficult childhood, but I found her to be a bit annoying. Lots of fun "behind-the-scenes" tidbits, made me want to watch the series again and see if I can spot some of the things she mentioned. I would recommend this book, but only if you were a huge LHOTP fan, otherwise you'd probably find it boring.
