has any celebrity or "celebrity" ever managed to write or "write" a memoir that isn't infected every 2nd page with self-obsession and self-consciousness
Who knew that Nellie Oleson's mother was Gumby and Casper the Friendly Ghost? Or that Pa Ingalls never wore underwear? Now I do, and I am the better for it.

What a great read!
When I came across this book in my library's digital resources, I knew I had to read it. Having been a huge fan of the Little House series as a kid, I figured I had nothing to lose. At the least, I'd be entertained with behind-the-scenes stories and nostalgia.
I ended up listening to the audiobook, read by Alison Arngrim herself, and can honestly say this turned out to be a great read, probably the best memoir I've read yet. I laughed, I cried, and I learned what a bad b!tch Nellie really was.
Graphic: Child abuse, Sexual assault
Alison Arngrim's memoir. Includes many stories about Little House on the Prairie. Desipite or because of being Nellie and the sexual abuse she suffered as a child, she became an activist and a smart, funny, wonderful human being who fought for the rights of others.

Everyone should read this book, and maybe I should start watching Little House.
4 stars.
Really wasn't expecting to like or fly through this one, but Alison Arngrim, aka Nellie Oleson of Little House on the Prairie fame has a uniquely hilarious voice, even as she talks about very tough topics.

I never saw or read Little House on the Prairie, so I came to this without context. However, it was a surprisingly interesting story nonetheless and I think she wrote it herself without a ghostwriter. For SQYLL.
