So… I started off by liking this book, ALOT. It made me giggle and feel all warm inside. I loved how caring and possessive Benji was to Toby and I was full prepared to give it 4 ⭐️, despite it skipping a lot. I mean, they agreed to stick to the arrangement for a month but we just don’t get to see any the development between the two in that time?? I felt we, as readers, would be able to connect with the characters more if we were able to see that month.

But despite that, I felt like the story degraded even more after Toby was rescued from being kidnapped by Dan. I love a daddy kink as much as the next gal but I hate when it’s TOO involved. This may be someone else type of tea but I don’t like when daddy/little becomes the story instead of just part of it.

AND from the way Benji acted and some of the things he said “mine, mine, mine”, I fully expected to be hit with a werewolf shifter twist but no. Just a possessive human, which I love so much but that is what I guessed from how he acted.

I almost DNF at 80% but just said, F*** it, and skimmed through the rest. Horray, they got their happy ending in the sweetest way possible and I love that so, 3⭐️ for me. Just couldn’t connect with them as much as I would like.

Stockholm Syndrome???
Toby didn’t really find himself in a bad situation now did he???
I loved how fast paced it was, made imagination and fantasy run wild though.

A new author for me so I wasn't sure what to expect, but Mad Love had a lot of things I loved! Toby was such an adorable boy and I always have a soft spot for touch-starved MCs... And while it didn't always seem like it, Benji was totally smitten. He initially showed it by being a bit kidnap-y and possessive perhaps, but still. It ended up being a sweeter story than I expected, and I loved the hurt / comfort in it!

His laugh shook us both. “Are my possessive tendencies wearing off on you, sweet pea?” “Possessive tendencies?” I rolled my eyes, earning myself a swat on the ass. “Benji, you do not have tendencies. You’re possessive, end of story.”

I'm not going to try to convince anyone that this wasn't completely over-the-top, because it definitely was. Did I care about that, though? Nope. I actually ate all of that shit up.

This was possessive, nurturing, obsessive, romantic, sweet, protective, and incredibly swoon-worthy.

“If you need something, I’ll provide it. If you’re sick, I’ll fix it. Your smiles, your laughs, your freckles, and those godforsaken tears all belong to me.”

In the beginning of the book there is no smut whatsoever, since they're not together yet, but once they are, it was really freaking hot.

“Let me in, baby.” He panted, lips moving against mine. “Wanna taste.”
I parted my lips, keening as he lapped at the inside of my mouth, devouring every last breath and moan he pulled from me.
“You’re right where you belong, hm? Underneath Daddy? Taking his cock like a good boy?”

The story started to drag a little near the end, but I didn't mind it too much. After all, I liked both of the characters and really loved the romance, which kept me entertained throughout.

As long as you enjoy the romantic tropes and relationship dynamic here, I think this will be a good read. If this is not your thing, though, you will hate it, since it's very extra.

I didn't realize I had already read this until a few pages in, but I'm so glad I reread it!

MAD LOVE is a Daddy *no age play* mafia adjacent story. Maybe not so adjacent. But the mafia aspect isn't the main focus of the story.

Toby is not loving his life. He is surviving, barely. Choosing to fall asleep in a gym locker room and waking up to a giant scary madman wasn't on his bingo card.

Ben is the mafia man/ceo/ eventual daddy. He feels an instant connection to Toby but has zero ability to express said emotions.

After basically kidnapping Toby, Ben realizes Toby NEEDS help. He has untreated lupus and is generally in a bad way.

Is this instalust / instalove?
 Yes.

But who cares.

These two mcs have chemistry and plenty of backstory to spare between them.

I love a feral mafia king.
I love an UNHINGED *you're mine*

And honestly, there just aren't enough daddy stories without age play. It's a whole vibe.

Loved this one, and I absolutely recommend it. I'll be reading book 2, WILD HEART, tomorrow.
