There’s always so much that happens that I never really know what’s going on.

Despite having not read any others in this series I still found this to be an enjoyable story with engaging characters. Well written!!

My first book by Tim Weaver and even though this one is the 6th on a series I did not felt any need to read the back ones to understand this one. I want to read them now because this was very good.
It is a captivating story, with a lot of action and a couple of plot twists some very good others very common but overall I was grabbed by this book and I could not stop reading it on the train.

I think that the main character Raker is very well designed and it works very well in this series I hope to get to see the before and after this volume.

Tim Weaver's writing is very fluid and captivating I lost count that I was reading so much due to how he made this book.

I think the story in this book is interesting, the case is very interesting and all the sub connections and all the implications it had was very good. Being a big book you have a lot to unfold and discover all way to the end.

I'm a big fan of the David Raker series and enjoyed this book a lot, although I did think that the book was really dragged out and could have had far fewer chapters. The twists and turns kept the suspense throughout and were well placed within the book itself. Tim Weaver has left the book wide open at the end, so hopefully there will be more in this series.

So I’ve read no five, then seven and now six!! I enjoyed the first two books I read by this author, they had me gripped and I wizzed through them, this one however not so much. It seemed to take an age to get going and I didn’t feel it picked up pace until about halfway through. The storyline was a bit of an odd one and I just couldn’t work out where it was going, which I guess is the point but I really couldn’t see the dots joining up and when all is revealed, it was still a bit of a weird one for me, It won’t put me off other though.

4 Till the last few chapters. I still do not understand Rakers obsessive protection and defence of Healey.
And still absolutely no sympathy or understanding of Healey he was a horrible person with nothing redeemable about him. Probably will try another but if the ending is as bad that will be it. Still a good mystery.

The library let me down by not having this book or indeed, the next one in the series. So I bought my own with an audible credit!

I love the characters, plots, narration and find them hard to put down.
