I wanted to like this book sooooooooooo bad but the writing is soooo strange like. I the unnecessary detail. there is a thing such as TOO much world building, or overly describing something, and/or adding in unnecessary words and sentences to talk about something. this happened every single damn page. like him describing his tattoos in chapter 8
"Having showered to clear my thoughts, I walk around the space in a pair of sweats, my tattoo starting at my neck, traveling down my side, curling up my back, and descending to my arms, hiding the array of scars dancing around my skin. Twisting thorns and vines, the piece took hours, the pain of the scarred skin being poked by the needle one of the more pleasurable pains I have had to endure in my lifetime."
and when he was looking on fathers kevin computer, he went from talking about what's on the computer to what david said to eden's eyes to wanting to call eden in literally ONE sentence I kid you not
"Trying to piece together what could be so important in the document, the crude behavior David displayed nags at my mind, Edens's wide eyes watching me leave consuming me, my phone burning in my pocket, begging me to utilize her number."
i'm soo glad I didn't pay for this book and only read it on KU
If you like over descriptive bullshit with no substance and insta lust with soo much unnecessary words that it almost sounds JUMBLED while reading it then this one is FOR YOU.
I read books for the vibe and a good time but this was sadly neither.
OH and one more thing... The spice wasn't even good!

This was so poorly written
niet eens gelezen maar ik ben jarig en zag de traumatische beschrijving op TikTok van dit boek dus ik mag dit lekker 1 ster geven en voor mijn boekengoal laten tellen
There is a lot of spice and dark romance, I enjoyed some of the book but felt it a bit predictable and couldn’t agree with some of the characters behavior. The romance move pretty quickly and I felt like there wasn’t much of a connection, it definitely could have been done better. I wanted to know how the story ended but I did not like how the two main characters were a bit immature. It was an okay book for me. I don’t think I’ll think about it again

Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned… and I loved every second of it.
This audiobook? Unholy.
Inspired by Priest by Sierra Simone (or at least, that's the vibe it gave me. But darker), it dives headfirst into the depths of dark, forbidden lust and doesn’t come up for air. The spice? Absolutely filthy. The tension? Criminal. And let’s not even talk about the confessional scenes—because girl, you already know.
But here’s the twist—beneath the nine inches of throbbing sin (yes, NINE INCHES LONG AND THREE WIDE?!), there’s a serious darkness too. Themes of self-harm, mental and physical abuse, knife play, blood play… this isn’t just a raunchy romp through a rectory. It’s layered, disturbing at times, and yes, icky in moments that almost felt like they were glamorizing pain.
Yet somehow… I couldn’t stop.
“Come all over this crucifix so I can taste your pain.”
EXCUSE ME?! WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST LISTEN TO?!
And don’t even get me started on that ending. What was that?! Who gave these people the right?! Glad it was something close to a happy ever after.
Let me just say this: do not—I repeat, do not—listen to this in public. You’ll need a cold shower, a therapist, and probably a few more confessions.
I need to lie down. Holy. Shit.
THIS BOOK LIVES RENT FREE IN MY HEAD. I adored this book. I loved the drama, the honest questions regarding religion, the relationship between Eden and the Priest. It was such a great story. I wish the ending had been a little more detailed and longer but that was probably just because I wanted to read more about them.
