“This was worth pining over. This was worth going to war for. This made the world go round and it made it churn to a halt, and at long last, I was invited to the party. And there was no going back.”
Dang Serena Akeroyd writes one hell of a wild ride! Filthy Sinner is book 7.5 in her Sinners MC series. This crossover book blends the worlds of the Five Points Mob and the Sinners MC. Mary Catherine is a mafia princess trapped by her own toxic family and cut off from living the life she wants. Digger is a lifelong Sinner, born to be a brother in the MC. Two lives that touched for an instant years ago become intertwined for a lifetime. In this Romeo and Juliet-esque, feuding families, road trip romance, Serena sends readers on a gritty, high octane adventure that rumbles through the heart. I loved Mary Cat & Digger’s transformations both as individual characters and as a couple. Mary Cat was courageous at the beginning, but the strength she found as Digger showed her kindness was awe-inspiring. Mary Cat is not your average damsel in distress. Serena writes such fierce heroines I wasn’t surprised, but delighted by the saving from both sides. Filthy Sinner is a dark, age-gap love story full of twists, turns, and gritty & sweet romance.
Samantha Brentmoor and Joe Arden bring top-shelf performances to the booth throughout this opposites-attract love story. Samantha’s portrayal of Mary Cat’s journey was fantastic. She embodied her kind, sweet, tenacious defender traits perfectly. Joe was outstanding as the broody, tormented biker with a dark past and a huge heart. Samantha and Joe were a terrific narration team I hope to hear more of!

So, this is my second in this five points mob series. According to the author's reading order this comes after Filthy, but it is more involved in the related MC and took me out of the mafia world. It was a strange departure. Didn't really enjoy this. Won't remember anything about it. I don't know if this author exclusively writes about virginal, innocent FMCs or if it's just been these two in a row, but I'll give this series one more before I just scrap it. I love mafia, but so far these just seem really light. These men aren't morally grey, they're morally scrubbed white with Dawn power wash.
