2.5 stars.

I'm sure it was't meant to be, but she came off as arrogant, really self - centered. I wasn't impressed with this autobiography. She's been through hardships, as we all have. She's also been really really blessed with opportunities that only some can dream off, although she never touches on this perspective and only seems to focus on those who did not serve her well enough. She does pay homage to a few aging stars in a complimentary way but it always seems to be because they paid her some sort of special extra attention or gave her a compliment. It's a fast read.

This is an amazing memoir. I read it in one sitting.

I can't believe I'm about to say this (because the audiobook is 11 hours long!), but it ended too soon. I am in awe of her honesty. I appreciate the way it felt like it came full circle; coming to terms at the end with what is discussed at the beginning. What I personally struggled with is completely selfish. The book was over before Steel Magnolias, before Mrs. Doubtfire, before Forrest Gump, before her activism work, before her arrest... Like I said, selfish and I own that.

I do have to note that this book is full of triggers. Some triggers were her truth, some were those around her. Molestation, rape, abortion, alcoholism, drugs...
