This is a highly recommended read with a fun storyline and characters. It was a very good well written cozy mystery that lets you get lost in the world and I cannot wait to read more in this series.

Ok, this has to be said, even though I wish our heroine would grow a backbone with her family and the town, this series is bound to be a new favorite. Great story line. The characters are lively and entertaining and I have to admit that I did not expect the plot twist. A definite must read.

Gnomes, werewolves, witches, ghosts and a lot of un-luck, so what is not to love?

The Goode family is known to bring bad luck with them for the residents of the town of Lucky Village. When the 3 children of Marigold Crawford Goode inherit an old Victorian and return to the town they didn't even know about, the bad luck seems to move into high gear. Will they stay, or will they go?

It took a little while for me to actually get into the story. I wasn't quite as invested in knowing about Lily and Dante or the other characters as I would have liked until about halfway into the book. The pace did pick up then and by the end of the story, I was interested in seeing where the various plot lines were headed.

If you like humor with your paranormal cozy, you should enjoy this.

Holy HedgeWitches! This is a fab new cosy series. Set in a town were the paranormal are more or less the norm!

Lily and her siblings have the worst run of luck...ever. They were abandoned by their mother, they have no family left and they are pretty much down on their luck. But their estranged mother leaves them the family home in Lucky Valley. But when they arrive in town the locals are anything but friendly. Lily has deja vu and Dante finds out how pretty raccoons look when they are up close and personal!

This family thought they had problems before they found out about being witches! Add in shady dealings by the local council, a not altogether on the up and up curser werewolf building inspector/contractor and the very eccentric but well meant Aunt Polly! The recipe for a superb cosy!

I absolutely LOVED this! It was fun, it was light, it was a fast read and it was so engaging!

I think (Un)Lucky Valley would be a great place to live! A town full of supernatural people sounds like just my cup of tea! Even though they all have a big hate on for Lily and her family, and do NOT welcome them when they arrive to take over the family house on the outskirts of town, this is still my kind of town.

I really enjoyed the world-building the author does here. The creatures, their stories, and how past and present intersect was clever, quirky and really fun. The humour that runs through the book tickled me and made me laugh out loud more than once. Sarcasm is my think, and most of the main characters delivered a share of it as the story played out.

I also liked the sweet and gentle romance between Lily and Nolan [that's not a spoiler unless you've never read this genre AND didn't read the book description] they had their obstacles to get over, but it was enjoyable to go on their journey as they worked through things.

The supporting cast of characters in this world are just a hoot! Especially Aunt Polly - who is a complete nut case, but still lovable - but all the residents of Lucky Valley are just plain fun!

I really enjoyed everything about this, and will absolutely watch for future books set in Lucky Valley. I would love to go back there in future!!
