ALL THE STARS!!

With Historical Fiction, it can be so hard to come across a book with a timeline that hasn’t been over saturated, but I thought Fiona Davis did a great job of bringing a fresh new story to life, with a storyline that swept me up right away, making this her best yet!

THE MAGNOLIA PALACE alternates between 1916 and 1966, at the iconic Frick Museum in NYC. It follows the story of the Frick family and artist’s muse, Lillian, weaving together a powerful story of self-discovery and mystery.

Fiona Davis has done it again and written another beautiful story.  Fiona Davis always finds a way to seamlessly blend two different stories from different time periods together.  The Magnolia Palace focuses on the stories of Lillian (Angelica), a model in 1919, and Veronica, a model.  Veronica's story takes place 50 years after Lillian's.  Both stories revolve around the Frick Mansion/Museum and what happened during Lillian's time there.  I loved how the stories connected and how the murder mystery was uncovered.  I also loved the development of Joshua and Veronica's relationship.  This was a great spring read.

Oh my gosh this book was AMAZING. It has history, murder, mystery, romance and some good old contemporary elements. It is everything you could want in a book.

Another great BOTM choice! I really liked this book. It was honestly kind of similar in some ways to Carnegie’s Maid which I read in January, but done so much better
