I enjoyed this one so much more than I thought I would! I’ve let it sit on my shelf for months a little hesitant to pick it up, but I really do love a good historical fiction, and the mystery aspect made this all the more enjoyable. I definitely recommend!

I always enjoy Fiona Davis' books and stepping back into New York City history with her characters. Her latest book really shines in the 1919 storyline and I was glad we spent most of the book there, with the 60s characters helping to dissect and solve the mystery at hand.

I love how this author combines the past to the present with a mystery in her books. She does a fantastic job of writing about historical facts with a layer of fiction. Next time I’m in NYC, Fricks Collection will be on my list to see!

This is a keep you hooked novel that skirts the line beteeen mystery and historical fiction. With all the fun of the Gilded Age, and the sass of the 1960's the interwoven main characters in two timelines makes this feel both vintage and timely. With a story that is really about loyality, ovet anything else- I was enamoured with the characters, flaws and all.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I really enjoyed this book. The different time frames and going back/forth really kept the story moving.
Another great historical fiction novel by Fiona Davis. I love her style of building stories around famous buildings in NYC. I didn't love it as much as her others mostly because I had a hard time relating to the characters. But still would recommend for anyone that loves historical fiction with multiple time frames.
Another excellent novel by Fiona Davis. She takes history and by adding fiction makes fascinating stories that draw you in. For me, this was hard to put down. If you are a fan of the new HBO series, "The Guilded Age" you will LOVE this novel. If you are fan of the early 1960s then you need to read this novel. How the two intertwine, I will leave it up to you to read. You won't be sorry. Thank you Fiona Davis for another great read.
