I enjoyed the three strong women and their stories. They were woven together well. I particularly liked that at the end Veronica asked for the job she wanted instead of just settling for the one she was thankful to have been offered.

I don’t often like historical fiction, but this one was fast-paced enough to keep me interested. It was light and quick, with a well developed enough storyline to hold my attention. I don’t know if I’ll read the authors other books, but I’m glad I got out of my normal reading habits!

The characters felt so flat to me. I enjoyed the setting and plot, but this was a miss for me. The author beat us over the head with Lillian’s modeling. Overall, I didn’t care about or relate to any of the characters.
