I do enjoy historical fiction and I loved the New York Gilded Age setting. I also thought the 50 year time jump was an, interesting touch and I liked how both stories ended up being interwoven. The details of the Frick mansion were really cool and I liked Lillian and Veronica as main characters. I also liked the mystery vibes and how the events ultimately played out by the end of the book. Overall, this was enjoyable and I liked the characters and their various roles.

I overall enjoyed this book; I’m not always a fan of various POVs but I enjoyed both Veronica and Lillian’s perspectives. Also, can’t stand the Frick’s. Callous, heartless, and downright ridiculous. The entire family is so self-centered and completely unlikeable. Helen had the occasional likable moment, but I had very little sympathy for the family.
