I actually really enjoyed this even tho it wasn’t something I normally would read. I liked the two pov between the two time periods and How they related and then overlapped and joined.

The Magnolia Palace was okay. There were parts I liked- the art, for one. But the characters weren't that likeable and the plot was absurd and contrived.

Dual timeline but both of them were historical! I'm very tired of this method of writing but this was a fresh take. I liked the mystery and learning a bit about the Frick family.

I am a huge fan of parallel storylines within a novel, and this one did not disappoint. Although I felt like the ending was rushed, overall, the story kept me engaged, and was a lovely escape.

Solid 4. Not sure why I tend to avoid historical fiction because I usually end up enjoying them. The 1919 timeline in this book was definitely way better than the 1966 timeline. But I did appreciate the closure for all the characters at the end. I was sad to read in the author’s note that the real story of the “Lillian” character was extremely different.
