I definitely understand why this book has been continuously read for nearly two centuries.
The book kept me interested and there were times I had difficulty putting it down.
I enjoyed the insight into the time period that is only possible through a contemporary writing. The amount of quotes I found relevant to life today made the book feel timeless.

Well I managed to reach the end of this tome. Had some intriguing scenarios occasionally but somehow the main themes I identified: revenge, egoism (euro male believing they are god), and incest didn’t really succeed in inspiring me. Don’t we have enough of these themes going in life already? Why do people love this book? Is it actually criticizing these perspectives? It didn’t seem so to me. The most impressive aspect to me is the length. 47 hours of audio book!!

Amazing book, not a page was boring. I was thoroughly engrossed throughout its entirety. Not only was it thought provoking, but also captivating. Dumas makes you care about the characters, and delivers a true Classic.
