Book 1- Stella and Luca
This is book 1 of the Kings of Temptation series. It’s dual POVs with an epilogue going into the next book. I’m giving it 4.5 stars really because at time I felt either Stella was a little too clueless or there was just too much of a build or slow burn between the two main characters.
Luca is the head of the Kings Italian mafia who has history with Stella when she was a child. Now she is his prisoner for 30 days due to a debt her father can’t pay. Throw in the Triad and the Irish and it’s a lot of story.
Stella is just trying to keep it together until she graduates college and can leave her drunk of a father and her old life behind. Her father’s gambling debt and an ex-boyfriend that is the son of one of the Triads and life is looking pretty bleak for her. As a final straw, her father sold her to the Kings and let the fun begin.
It’s not a bad story. It’s a slow burn, close proximity, she falls first, he falls hardest, alpha male, OTT vibes. At one point I was so frustrated by Stella’s inability to remember Luca that it caused me to want to hurry her up a bit. Of course it’s totally explained why she doesnt remember him but it was still frustrating. Does have a few triggers of sexual abuse ideas, domestic abuse/violence.
