Overall a great WWI & WWII historical fiction pick. I was really impressed/shocked by the accuracy of a lot of the info in the book and I love how the author takes the time to inform the reader or the real people the book was based on.

This book was much better than I expected. It was interesting reading it so closely to The Nightingale. Same timeframe and similar subject matter. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was a little darker in some ways. I didn’t cry with this one but it was still deeply moving. All in, I think these books will hang with me for quite a while.
