I adored this book. Listened to it on audio-book as I was looking for a quick listen and this was perfect. Oh, and the audio-book was narrated by Christopher Eccleston, whom I love ever since I watched Doctor Who.
This book is everything that my childhood self would've loved in a book. It has a secret world of tiny people that no one knows about, the creativity with which the author has made their world come to life was so much fun to read. And my inner child was fascinated.
I think this book had a good enough plot that I, even as an adult, was thoroughly engaged and invested and near the end, clinging to the edge of my seat to see what would happen.
One last thing I'd like to add is that I really appreciated how the Borrowers did not feel like caricatures of humans or cardboard cut-outs. They felt complete with their fear and aspirations and flaws. Those flaws especially, made them truly human and real. And I think that is one reason why this book would appeal to an older audience as well.

Love love this book, so enchanting. We just did a review of it and the film adaptation on our podcast here.

I don't like the narrative structure that frames this book at all, but I wish the rest of this book was real. Slicing up hazelnuts for dinner = adorable!
