I've been looking for this book for a while and finally found one last available copy at Birchbark Books. I absolutely loved Moon of the Crusted Snow and wanted to read another book from Waubgeshig Rice. Midnight Sweatlodge is a culmination of stories, and how sharing your story promotes healing. More specifically, it dives deeper into the importance and meaning of the Sweatlodge to the Anishinaabe people. And more importantly, how straying from traditional ways of life can lead to pain and suffering. This book was very reflective, emotional, and powerful. I do think it's written by and for Indigenous people, but I don't want to others mistake that as they shouldn't read this book. It's important to read books that maybe aren't written for you. That's how we learn about different ways of life, different cultures, different traditions, etc. Come open minded and ready to listen.
