Is this pretty much ACOTAR with a few twists? Yeah, honestly, it is.
Did it obliterate my reading slump either way? It sure as heck did! I'm so thankful for this book

It does make it a bit difficult to rate, though. I'm hoping the next book deviates from the ACOTARish storyline and creates its own path because I truly want to find out what is going to happen

Sadly, I could see that ending from a mile off, but I need more Finn 🥹

This book is bad imo. Like, terribly written bad. The.maim character is constantly fed info dumping/ exposition dumping so she doesn't have to do any thinking and can just agonize about how ugly and not like other girls she! But she is actually super special and the two future princes of the kingdoms are madly in love with her and need her. The princes are written and sound like spoiled irresponsible brats and she is a plank. I made several jokes with my husband that the author must be a man with how often I hear that only male authors write like this. It was bad but not bad enough to have me read both books and I promise you this author isn't worth the effort.
