I have recently discovered my love for a hockey player and needed to read some hockey romances to quench these feelings.
That being said, this is no off-campus by any means but sarina bowen’s writing is always good and she knows how to right good hockey men.

I so didn't want this book to end. This one will stick with me for a long time. Sarina Bowen is now on my short list of absolute favorite authors in the world!
Corey was a great mix of tough and wounded. I had no idea what this book was about going into it and I WAS NOT expecting her to have had a spinal injury. It was so well done and organic in the story telling.
Hartley was amazing. I love friends to lovers stories, especially when there is an unappreciative girlfriend in the mix. The two shared a unique bond with their handicaps, which propelled them into an effortless friendship. The two of them being the truly great people they are is what made that friendship turn into more. It was a slow burn, but just slow enough that I had the pull in my gut the whole time that just made me want to cry all the happy tears.
I started my Sarina Bowen journey with Him, which will go down as one of my all time favorites. Now I plan on reading everything from her that I can get my hands on.

Meh. The story? Meh. The characters? Meh. The only part that made me go Yay was the committed use of wheelchair and crutches and actual everyday struggles of them.
The Year We Fell Down was kind of perfect, really! There were SO many feels!

Anfangs fand ich die Geschichte etwas lau. Mich konnten die ach so netten Charaktere nicht wirklich überzeugen. Die Freundschaften schlossen sich zu schnell und alles war so heile Welt trotz des harten Schicksals, dass die Prota getroffen hat. Das Thema Rollstuhl hat sich dann aber im Laufe der Geschichte doch recht interessant entwickelt und als ich mich dann mit den schnellen Freundschaften abgefunden hatte, waren dieser dann wirklich gut. Ich mochte dir Interaktionen zwischen ihnen und auch die Ausflüge, die sie machten und die Besuche zu Hause. Der Hauptteil des Buches spielt aber auf dem Uni-Campus und stellt das Leben von amerikanischen Studenten dar. Es werden Themen wie Benachteiligung, Klassenunterschiede und Familiendramen angerissen, aber nie wirklich im Detail besprochen. Für eine nette Unterhaltung nebenher, war das ganze aber sehr gut und ich habe es sehr genossen. Gesprochen wurde das ganze von Erik Borner und Nina-Zofia Amerschläger. Ich finde es immer sehr gut in Hörbüchern, wenn die verschiedenen Perspektiven auch von gleichgeschlechtlichen Sprechern gelesen werden. Beide Sprecher machten hier einen hervorragenden Job und ich konnte daher richtig abtauchen in die Story.
Auch wenn ich mich gut unterhalten gefühlt habe, so reizt mich Teil 2 der Reihe bzw. die ganzen Folgebände kaum. Ganz ausschließen tue ich aber nicht, dass ich irgendwann auch die Folgebände hören werde.
