This is a case of exactly the right book at exactly the right time. This is one of the few NA books that seems realistic and has legitimate angst that doesn't feel contrived. The hero shows some actual growth. It's been awhile since I've stayed up until the wee hours of the morning reading and I'm glad to find a book that made me do it. Although getting up the next morning was a bit tough.
Looking forward to the next books in this series.

Things this could've been: good.
Things this was not: good.
I was expecting a lot more from this, because the author is popular, but popular doesn't always (or often) mean that it will work for me.
The beginning was the most promising, rep and story wise, but then the language relating to Corey's disability began to change into something that didn't feel...right?
I'm not disabled so it's not my place to say if the rep was accurate or not, so I'll just say that I think it could've been done better. There were so many hurtful little comments that were completely unnecessary.
Add the cheating on top and this book's rating falls down even more.
BUT COREY AND HARTLEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH CHEMISTRY TO "JUSTIFY" THE CHEATING! And when I say "enough" I mean they had no chemistry, none whatsoever.
I could maybeee see them as friends which is what they should've stayed, but together I really can't see it.
Hartley doesn't deserve Corey, and who's to say he won't cheat on her to sometime in the future like he did with his ex?
I will not be continuing the series, and from what I've seen it's good I'm not going to. One of the books has problematic ace rep and I really do not need that in my life.

**3.5**
Better than many NA books out there. This one featured a strong heroine for once. Not to be awed by a hot guy (I mean she is, but she can still form coherent sentences), she's got sass and she isn't afraid to show it to a guy. She also knows what she deserves and what she can put up with and does what is best for her. It was a more realistic depiction of a relationship and didn't suggest that they were be-all and end-all to each other (as opposed to the last and many NA I read), which I appreciated.

Why why why (Delilah) did I take so long to read this book??
I have had it forever, I have read later books in this series, but never got back to reading this one.
I was hooked from the get go. I adored Hartley, I freaking loved Corey, and thoroughly enjoyed the journey that they took together.
Writing was great, the story flowed and was well paced, and I couldn't wait to turn each page.
I am also currently listening to book 2 in the series, now to get busy on that.

I want to start this review off by saying, up to this point, I've only read MM Sarina Bowen romance books, and this certain series has been on my radar for a while for just trying an MF book of hers and to just read more of her backlist.
However, that being said, I really didn't enjoy this book, at all. I feel like this is a love triangle trope where the third party is literally not there for the majority of the book but is in the back of everyone's mind just looking over the MCs relationship. Plus the relationship between the two MCs was so platonic for 90% of this book, that when they did end up getting together, it just felt weird, you know?
The part of this book I actually really enjoyed was the representation of using a wheelchair, I don't usually see it often and I wish I did.
I don't know if I'm going to continue the series at the moment, but if I'm ever in the mood then I definitely will pick it back up!
