The plot has a few similarities with The Deal:

- FMC has a crush on a guy so the MMC offers to be a fake boyfriend to get help her be noticed
- MMC will give the FMC "lessons" so she can catch her crush's interest
- the breakup is because someone will blackmail one of them

I loved reading this despite that^ because of the author's writing style. The characters are easily lovable and I got invested early on at the same time I was scared there will be a part where Giana will get her heart broken because Clay has not moved on from his ex/first love but I'm glad the author skipped that part. Their relationship actually developed smoothly and their "practice sessions" were hot.

I just found the grand gesture a little corny, same with how their friends helped Clay get his head out of his ass.

BTW, Kellan Kyle is not a book boyfriend!!! Thoughtless was a book about cheating. Ugh.

this is the type of book you go back to every week to feel comfort and happiness
OFFICIALLY ONE OF THE BEST READS EVER. It made me feel 10000x better in every way and I can’t even put the love I have for this book into words. Nothing would do it justice. *grabs the tissues and cries even more.* I need help! literally writing a review before finishing the book because I don’t want it to end so I’m delaying the process a bit :,)

the fake dating trope…. has NEVER been done better me thinks! Clay & Giana were the most perfect and precious people ever. They were so REAL. Together.. they could do ANYTHING and everything. Their romance was top tier and now I suddenly understand why this book is all over my reels. Most of all, it was so ADORABLE to the point where all I did was smile or or LITERALLY cry of laughter and happiness. I actually GIGGLED like I was insane. Something about them reminded me of logangrace too (my favorite people) and I loved that. The plot.. the DAMN SCENES. They were written so well I couldn’t contain my obsession and love for this book and the plot. They’re so perfect for each other and so DIFFERENT in the best way you could think???? I loved how they were so DEEP into pretending that it never felt fake anymore and then trying to deny it had me losing it every 0.1 seconds. I WILL PROTECT THEM WITH MY ENTIRE SOUL AND BEING. I don’t even care about anyone or anything but them rn. My heart BROKE in some scenes like um he had no right to make me ugly cry like that late at night.

GIANA. MY TWIN ANGEL GIRL. the amount of times I said ‘me’ when reading this book. SHE GIVES ME HOPE FOR NERDY SHY GIRLS (US) at university.. to be happy and to find someone that makes us less afraid to just.. BE. to not feel alone and invisible just because we prefer the solitude over being around others. She’s truly such a strong and beautiful person.. I loved how she grew into herself, her passions. She puts everything into whatever she sets out to do. LOVES and CARES STRONGLY. I WANT TO HUG HER FOR THE REST OF MY existence OKAY. AND SHE TABS HER BOOKS LIKE I DO (& the smut lol… p.s we love clay for being the realeast man and learning her likes from the books she reads..!)

CLAY AKA THE MOST WHOLESOME KIND MAN. Where do I start with this beautiful soul who’s always putting others before him. selfless as hell and I love him for it. BECAME BOOK BF REAL QUICK after one scene in the first book and this book just really cemented my love for him! HIS RESPECTFUL BUT POSSESSIVE SIDE, his ability to just be there for people and make them feel better instantly & EVERYTHING about him. This man has no flaws. NONE. And he’s just so REAL??!!! HE MADE ME SMILE to the point where it was concerning with every small thing he did, or when he’d DO THAT CLASSIC SMIRK OR MAKE A JOKE that would leave mine and gianas faces RED. GAHHHHHHHHHH no one does it better than him.

If off campus universes would cross… clay & John logan and Giana & grace would be the bestest of friends I KNOW it. THE HOLDEN SCENES IN THE BOOK….. I already know his romance will SERVE. MY ANGELS RILEY AND ZEKE; I MISSED THEM. RILEY&GIANA being the most adorable bestfriends made me SMILE SO much.

I AM JUST SO OBSESSED AND IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK bare w me and this review that sounds like I just won a million dollars or something. KANDI STEINER. U. ARE. AMAZING. FOR. THIS. MASTERPIECE.

Started off so good…… loved the writing and the banter between the two mcs… tension was building and then everything felt a bit rushed 😟 don’t think I will be continuing the series

Total chick lit and I loved it!
College football, college hotties, fake dating, and spice.
Duel perspective which is great, getting in the heads of both main characters.
The main female character is a shy and socially anxious book worm, and i love how she embraces things and becomes confident in herself. The main male character is a super confident sometimes thinks he knows everything until he really gets to know the mfc. Its got 'The duff' movie vibes and if you loved that movie you'll love this book. The author really captivates you, the story flows so well, and the characters are relatable.
