Clay and Giana are the cutest couples, and to everyone around them, they are meant to be. But behind closed doors, it’s all an act to get an ex back for Clay and get the guitar-playing hottie to notice Giana, or is it?

Giana is a shy, quiet middle child who likes to live a quiet, attention-free life. But in college, she decided to step outside the box and got herself a job as PR for the football team. And she’s really good at what she does. She is such a relatable and lovable girl!

Clay is an all-American football star who is a stud. He's been loyal for 5 years, gets his heart broken, and wants to win her back. He’s got all the makings of a hot and popular jock but with so much more to offer. And the fact that he’s got such a big heart loves his friends, and puts everyone else first makes you love him even more!

What makes this work is how they were friends first. They already have this working relationship/connection that’s grown into friendship, and their desires and feelings start to grow through it all. It’s such a natural progression of how their relationship evolves.

The downfalls are spoilers now.

The ending felt rushed. Why did it take his friends to stop the scheme and not his dad or G?
For first-time adult romance readers, the steam is a good level.
The grand gesture at the end, I feel, didn't fit Gs character at all, and she would not enjoy it.

Overall, this was a really fun sports romance and I did enjoy it.

I don’t know why I read the sequel to this one after I didn’t like the first one. The female main character wears kitten & whisker skirts and shirts. The tropes/premise/plot of this book was good outside of the unbearable main characters.

The third act breakup was actually tolerable in this one.
