Another wonderful story from Sophie Jordan. This was an amazing couple that didn't seem to fit but were made for each other. One of the best historical series out right now!!

I must say, this is one of the steamiest historical romances I’ve read! I knew our main character was going to be under a tonic but goodness! The results were very hot! I haven’t read this series before but this book reads easily as a standalone.

While I did think this was pretty steamy, I did have some issues with our main character Charlotte. She hid her feelings and wants behind the concoction that Nora gave her. I wanted her to own up to her feelings for Kingston and her doubts about her betrothal to William. She wanted to blame everyone except herself. I didn’t like that about her. Her and Kingston were good for each other. It just took forever for HER to realize it. Yes, he was rogue but he was more than that.

Overall, I did enjoy this for the most part. I really hope that a story for Nora is next! I can’t wait to see who her love is and what he will think about our scientist.

I received an ARC via NetGalley for an honest review.

This is my first Sophie Jordan book that I found via Fated Mates podcast. The love potion premise is unique and the very beginning was promising but there just wasn't any pull or angst or chemistry. I will look for another highly rated book and try her again but his one was disappointing and I just powered through to the end.

A rompy historical kicked off when a prudent, staid young lady (Charlotte) is accidentally given an aphrodisiac by her herbalist sister (it was supposed to help with PMS cramps) and she ends up getting off with her brother-in-law's stepbrother (Kingston, who is REAL surprised that this is happening but he doesn't take advantage of the situation)...who is not her fiance (who is boring and has terrible parents, no surprise there). Oops. Many FEELINGS ensue.

I have a few installments in the Rogue Files series hanging around, but I hadn't read any yet, so you can totally read this one if you aren't current on the series.

This was a bit of a bonkers read. Not sure I ever really bought the aphrodisiac element, although it's turned around nicely. I also didn't feel great about Charlotte's sister's role.

Interesting story, borderline erotic with lots of sex and discussions of sexuality.
Started slow, but picked up. Fairly straightforward storyline without a lot of distractions, but unique theme that I haven't seen before. Love potion and a girl used to playing it safe with a rogue who doesn't and who turns her world upside down. Doesn't include the typical ton parties, events and shenanigans.
Great standalone read and I'll definitely read future stories from this series.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
