Every hundred years, a Summer Court Princess must travel to the mirror realm, find an Ethereum Lord, and return to Faerie with his heart to stop the curse. Now, Dawn must go to the mirror realm; except, she finds herself captured by Zander, a handsome royal guard, and she must find her way to a fae lord to take his heart.

This was a fun, easy to read romantasy! I enjoy these standalone books, each with a HEA, in a series. It was full of banter, sass and with the MMC's protective nature it was a great read. Being a short one, it was very fast paced.  This one is for fans of:

πŸ’œ Romantasies
πŸ’š Dual POV romance
πŸ’œ Fated mates
πŸ’š Enemies to lovers

Thank you to Harlequin Aus for a review copy of Cold Hearted! All opinions are my own.

A new romantasy series that I unfortunately will not be continuing. The premise was solid but I just didn't find it to be well executed. The writing felt very basic. Our heroine, Dawn, was so frustrating as she is supposed to be this well-trained assassin, yet she bumbled her way through so many mistakes and situations that she could have easily prevented. I felt no chemistry between Dawn and Zander, even though they're mates. This was a whole lot of lead-up to nothing but more questions and a big cliffhanger. This had so much potential, but needed to be longer to truly execute the plot well and in the detail it deserved.

🀍 Thank you @leiastoneauthor, @julie.hall.author, and @thenerdfam for the gifted ebook!🀍

This was my first book by both of these authors and definitely not my last!

This book had so many of my favorite fantasy elements and once I started reading, I just had to know what would happen next and found myself binge reading.

The romance was swoony and having this series as companion novels is such a fun idea! I’m so curious about how this plot will unfold through each set of characters.

My only issue was the length and standalone nature of the book was not conducive for the romance. It went from 0-100 and I didn’t love that.

For the reader who enjoys:
β€’ fantasy standalones
β€’ one horse (and one bed)
β€’ royalty
β€’ fae world
β€’ closed door romance

Wow... just wow...
I picked this up because I got bored at work so walked into qbd to get a little book and loved the cover.
I read it in under 5 hours. I just couldn't stop.
The characters, the worldbuilding, the little bits of romance, the banter, it really has it all.. and in under 300 pages...
Dawn is strong and stubborn, cunning and thoughtful with the biggest heart.
Zander is kind, caring, possessive and perfect.
I really enjoyed the characters and how they interested as well as the world building that we see in this first book. It sets out the two realms well and explains the lore and history well without obviously spoiling the story line.
I cannot wait to read the next 3 books and to whichever princess ends up falling in front of Stryker... goodluck!!!

Very loveable, easy to follow romance adventure. It's a clean fade to black sweet tendor moment romance. Dawn is a typical warrior princess with a big heart meets a mysterious dark fae male and the rest is history. It's sweet easy to follow interesting story. Has some pretty good world building for how short the story is and a lot of microtropes like one bed, one horse. Etc. Would totally recommend.

This was a fast paced Romantasy that I devoured in one sitting. I really enjoyed the premise and world dynamic. I also love the main characters and my only wish was that it was a little longer before moving to a new mc in the next book. Regardless, I really enjoyed reading and can’t wait for the next book.

Thank you so much to TheNerdFam, Leia Stone, and Julie Hall for providing me with an E-ARC.

I devoured the first half of this book and found myself reaching for my kindle every chance I could. I thouroughly enjoyed it. The story is unique and has incredible potential but unfortunately for me it fell flat in the later half. It felt rushed, there was a lot of repetitive phrasing, and some later parts just seemed too unbelievable or over the top. That being said I still enjoyed the characters (though I wish there was more time spent fleshing them out), the banter was great, and I do plan to read the following stand-alones.
