A fun oral history of the making of this beloved film.
I recommend the audiobook, which is read by Cary Elwes, with contributions by many of the cast & crew- plus you get to hear Elwes' impressions of his cast-mates.

Super charming behind the scenes and the audio has so many guests - it’s delightful.
This book was great. I love love love the movie, which is why I picked up the book. It was fun and well written. It was fun to hear the stories behind some of the scenes and learning more about the actors. I want to watch the movie again to see if I can notice the thing Cary Elwes points out. If you love, or even like, this movie you will enjoy this book.

I would call this a solid 3.5-rounded-up-to-4 in my scattered type of rating system. Yes, I like the movie; it is an endearing and fun screen play to watch; great lines and actors/actresses! However, I wouldn't say that I 'fan-girl' over the movie. This was an instance of where I actually saw the movie many times before I ever thought to read the book and once I realized my error, I corrected it. Well, surprise (or maybe not) I really thought the book was fantastic! I am proud to have it on my shelf.
Based on my enjoyment of the both the book and the movie, I was curious and happy to read Cary Elwes' take on the film-making process. He provided some charming stories about himself and some of his fellow actors as well as about Rob Reiner and William Goldman. For example, I was surprised to learn that Wallace Shawn (Vizzini) was very insecure about his performance and that Mandy Patinkin (Inigo) was quite proud about being part of this movie. (I can't say why that suprised me so much, maybe because I consider him to be a man who takes his acting very seriously and this is such a warm, fuzzy kind of movie.)
Anyway, I recommend if you are curious about the making of a "classic" or if you just have a crush on the Man in Black or Buttercup or Fezzik, for that matter. It's a quick, fun book to read.
