One of my guilty pleasures is reading the trivia on a movie's IMDB page and this was a way more charming version of that. I now have to immediately reread the book and rewatch the movie.

love for this movie reignited. very fun audiobook. I would buy a physical copy if it found at a half priced bookstore. have fun storming the castle and quoting any other inconceivable quote as you wish.
Great behind the scenes stories! I enjoyed reading about how everything came together to make The Princess Bride.

I've always loved The Princess Bride, so it's good to know that everyone involved in the making of it also love it and loved making it. It's always kind of disheartening when you find out that the people who made a movie you love had a bad time making it. (Looking at you Super Mario Bros., Hudson Hawk, and Mystery Men.) But everyone involved in this seems like they worked hard to make something special. And even when things went wrong, the set still remained a fairly stress-free environment. Even when Cary broke his toe in the dumbest way possible. So if you love the movie or if you just love reading about moviemaking, give this book a read. And have fun storming the castle!

Good stories and very fun to read, but not the best written memoir. The side stories and perspectives from other cast mates, etc really added more to what Elwes had to say so that helped. I just felt at times that the book sounded condescending to the readers' understanding of basic filmmaking. The Andre the Giant stories were the best part, though, and made for many grins while reading.
