This isn't really my kind of novel, and I found the choppy sentences quite distracting at times, but it has a really cool, kinda sad atmosphere (very much set in Newfoundland) but with an uplifting ending. I did get sucked in and engaged but there were also times the writing style caused me to detach, so, mixed feelings really.

Beautifully and artf lly written. The book describes the fierce beauty and strange depths of Newfoundland and the people who live there. The main character returns to where his family roots while coming to terms with the complex and dark secrets of his family while working through his own issues with love and belonging.
