If after reading the summary of this story, you fear for the child involved, you needn't worry. That is the only spoiler I will give, to protect the worried caretakers out there.
I really enjoyed the mystery in this story, and felt it progressed so well. Not the cheap cliche in a thriller where an unintroduced character is thrown in the final chapters and the reader never gets the opportunity to speculate or piece the puzzle together. If you choose to listen to the audiobook, the narrator was fantastic as well.
Ultimately it earned 3/5 for me because of how things wrapped up, but the ride to get there was an interesting one.

this book is like something that you know is terrible, but you can’t help but like it. there were so many times i was extremely annoyed at the characters but i just couldn’t put it down

First of all the 3rd person point of view was interesting to read. At first it through me off, but I definitely liked it by the end of the book.
The first half of the book was kinda boring, however the last half was definitely pretty good and almost makes up for the slow going beginning. Not the best book ever, not the worst book!
