Ehh...ok. I guess after reading the Manuel Perrine saga, Burn was pretty average and domestic with no cartel czar gunning for the Bennett brood. The Bennetts return home to normalcy...for them. All the usual suspects return but this story never really takes off into a thing more than casual flirting that "something" is gonna happen. And something does...Along the lines of fava beans and a nice Chianti! There is a change in job title for Detective Bennett that is pretty interesting to visit in the next book. Some new cops are introduced who will no doubt keep Mike busy. And for the love of all that's holy...Mike needs to either get with Mary Catherine or set her free! This book completed my 2015 Goodreads Reading Challenge!!!! Woohoo!!!!!

The characters are intriguing and interesting. "Burn" is well-paced as each chapter keeps you immersed in the book. There are a couple side-stories that are also interesting.
