TITLE: The Bite
GENRE: Paranormal Romance
AUTHOR: Andy Lee Barns
TROPE: Enemies-to-Lovers, Vampires & Witches
TYPE: Standalone
POV: Dual POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5
After a falling out with her dad and breaking up with her fiancé, Amelia (Amy) needs a fresh start and finds her way to the small town of Church Heights. Feeling let down and abandoned by everyone, Amy feels isolated and alone until she slowly starts making friends in this remote town. Church Heights has a notorious history of mysterious missing persons and random car accidents, but Amy is still drawn to Church Heights for some reason.
The Bite is a long book, which I prefer over novella-length books; it is full of twists, turns, angst, and suspense that keeps me interested in the storyline until the end. Be warned it ends with a HFN (happy for now) so there are some open ended questions but not enough that I did not feel any closure. I hope the author will continue with a second book at some point; I would love to return to this world and its characters again. I am giving a rating of 4 / 5 stars.
