The beginning and the whole idea was very promising, but I feel like the characters didn’t shine and the main plot and solution of the conflict was weak.

I am a huge fan of EAH books and have to say that I still enjoyed a good amount of moments (despite not being the target audience at all)!
And especially the morale- you cannot change people, you have to accept them, parents aren’t always right and you are not your parents, etc.

You can also draw parallels with all minorities- it tackles race and lgbtq+ issues, which is a great lesson for kids:)

So I didn’t really enjoy this. It wasn’t bad, I think I’m just not the target demographic for this. I did really like how the narrators had a bigger part of this and the readers. I probably would have liked it more if this was before the MH rebrand and if I was younger.

Brooke deserved a better story for her first solo narration.

Well, I guess I read these books out of order because this is book 4 in the series. Honestly though, there wasn't a moment that I felt like I didn't know something like a detail or character development I felt like I was missing. There is a school called monster high with children of classic monsters in history and ever after high with the children from the fairytales in history. They end up joined together looking for the missing shadow high. I loved the writing style of hearing this from the voice of the narrator as she narrates. Also, I loved the choose your own ending style at the end of the book. Some wording was clearly changed for the audiobook vs. reading the book. However, it was a random fun read and might check out the rest of the series at some point.

It's the land of Readers, and yet not many of them are reading, not right at this moment, when she so desperately needs them. She hopes there is at least one. One with a book open, ready for a story.
