Hori-san To Miyamura-Kun or Horimiya is one of the manga I read during my reading slump a month back, and I'm sooooo glad that I accidentally stumbled on this manga online and decide to read it.
It's basically your typical shoujo manga, a standard story about two teenagers falling in love. But as a big fans of slice-of-life and feel-good story I just can't get enough of this manga. In between my crazy work, winding down by reading Horimiya was my ultimate getaway. I mean, what's not to like on reading about:
- A group of young adults spending their fun time hanging out at school (oh, the memories!)
- Two people fall in love in the cutest way possible (so adorable I can not)
- An unbelievably warm, albeit a little dysfunctional, family and their daily life (the relationship between Hori, Miyamura, and Hori's little brother is so cute. Also whatever is wrong with Hori's dad? The guy is hilarious to a fault)
I love it so much that I actually have the plan to reread it next year. Yeah, already put that on my agenda. LOL.
So my final verdict is if you're looking for an easy read to help you ~ease the pain~ during this insane pandemic, for sure Horimiya is your ultimate choice. Not to mention I very much enjoy the classic Japanese manga art of it too. You'll laugh and feel warm all around while reading it, a perfect cure for a tired mind.
Additional information:
A few days ago the news out that Horimiya FINALLY get it long-deserved anime adaptation. I'm so looking forward to the anime, I hope it's not going to disappoint.

Me encantó este primer volumen.
Empieza a formarse la amistad entre Miyamura y Hori. Es todo muy tierno y principalmente muy divertido.
