This book! This book had me obsessed with if, from start to finish. I was desperate to read this whenever I could. I don't read on my phone, I hate reading on my phone. This book had me reading on my phone.
The world and the characters of this book had me wrapped up. The history, the turmoil, the court power plays and the mysteries. This book has so much going on by the end of it, with so many questions running through your mind that you are literally going crazy for answers. But in a good way.
Celaena was a character I could really get attached to. She is kick-ass, a little sassy and goes for what she wants, yes there is a little darkness and mystery in there but it plays out very well. The romance made me crazy, but in a good way. This is one book where I can't pick a man-team. I can't decided who I want Celaena to end up with, they are both worthy in my eyes.

DID NOT FINISH: 33%

so ive had this book on my shelf for far too long and finally through a random number pick ended up starting it. I DNF'd at 33% I already wasnt sure I was going to enjoy this book because I tried to read ACOTAR which is by the same author and I absolutely loathed it. On top of the fact that I was giving a trope I don't enjoy yet another try I also was giving this author a second chance and was once again failed by her. Throne of glass is the beginning to series and the author really enjoys super slow builds that give nothing even in the trials which at this point they've started there is nothing. you barely know the characters and everything I was promised in the synopsis isn't there, I was attempting to get to 50% but I took a break read an amazing book and then I couldn't force myself t0 go back to this one. one last thing that topped off this DNF for me was the names not being pronounceable there is even a guide in the back of this book to help (shouldn't that be at the beginning?) they're ridiculous.

When I read this for the first time in 2024 I had NO idea how much this series would mean to me. Fast forward to my first reread in 2025 and I love it even more knowing what’s to come. Chef’s kiss TOG xxx

A little slow at the beginning, but loved the character development. And as usual for a SJM book, the last 20% is where a lot happens. Excited for this series!
