For a book that used magical realism, it really did a lot of telling not showing. While entertaining, I just think a lot of books have covered these themes using similar writing styles better

At first the fact that she had no name pissed me off but then I realized that was the point. The loss of identity and the rage. I think the beginning was great but the turn of events and the end were iffy.

Fully captivated throughout the book. While only an exploration of the white upper/middle class, it digs into the changes that come with parenthood in a raw and real way. Especially the shift in priorities when your life isn’t just about you anymore.

Funny, biting, (literally) and entertaining. I just found some of the inner monologue to be too on-the-nose and would have preferred the chance to explore and discover some symbolism and theme for myself rather than being told.
