This book gets all the stars! 

It was such a great read! I laughed, cried, and laughed some more. The characters were lovable and even though the plot of the book is pretty dark and sad, Buddy Lee had me giggling until I cried throughout the story. I loved the way the author told the story from a 3rd person point of view. There were many hard issues in this book and the author did an impeccable job tackling the issues with utmost respect. I'm rambling, but seriously - read this book!

It's funny, but it took a while for this book to grow on me partially because I had a hard time relating to our two main characters. I exist on the opposite side of their initial beliefs and feelings regarding queerness that it was hard to relate or even forgive them for their words and actions. But this book is an invtation to soften and listen to people who aren't like you and who you don't understand. Aaannnd it's also about violent revenge, boy howdy. It did feel a bit melodramatic and unrealistic, but hey, it was a fun ride. This book was just so completely out of my wheelhouse but by the end of it I found myself emotionally invested.
