Based on others' reviews it seems I should have listened to the audiobook rather than read the print book, but this was a trip nonetheless. Beautiful, but disturbing writing.

For all the times the main character is split open and poured through, ice in lung, the weather another element of earth's gasping breath, this felt enigmatic, energized, and alive. More than anything else, this collection felt alive. It made the earth feel alive, vibrating beneath my fingertips waiting for my corporeal submission to reveal itself. A truly beautiful portrait of what the spirit world entails.
