Full Review of Phantom Blood

Be sure to look into the Content Warnings before reading if you need them.

I think that Phantom Blood works better animated. Sure the Manga came first but it does fit the Anime format much more. To give some credit though the art is amazing, it is absolutely worth the time just to see all of the art. One thing that bothered the absolute hell out of me is how they kept switching between Vampire and Zombie. Dio clearly is a Vampire and Vampires make more Vampires… I dunno if that was all intentional but it bothers the heck out of me. Just call them Vampires, don’t switch between the two! 🫠

Also note: The story is set in Victorian England so expect some racial stereotyping particularly in volume one.

**Review In Progress**

The End. This is the last volume for this series. Or story arc. There is more stories but different sub-series I guess.

All major battles against the giant zombies of the days of old. These zombies really are different. More like just living dead. No crazy flesh eaters here. They fight, speak, think and even feel! The team's hands are full and things take some nasty turns. The fights just keep getting more and more outrageous, including hair that holds swords, and eyes that literally shoot lasers!

Both sides suffer in these final battles and new hero's make their arrivals. And the ending was unexpected.

So my conclusion to Part 1 is it was an interesting ride, and well it was nice to see some closure for Jonathan Joestar and Dio.

Kind of looking forward to Dio's return in Part 3.
