3.5 I expected more from Sarah Dessen because she is one of my favourite writers. In this book, however, I didn't find Ambrose likeable, and I felt there wasn't much chemistry whatsoever between the main characters.
Louana (a mashup of her parents' names but it's also the brand of coconut oil I used when cooking dinner tonight) and Ambrose don't exactly hit it off. After a terribly tragic ending to her last relationship, she has given up on love altogether, and Ambrose is the very annoying new ladies' man of an assistant that she is forced to partner with at her mother's wedding planning business.
Spending all that time together starts softening Louana's feelings towards Ambrose, as they share laughs and even begin a dating competition. Maybe, just maybe, Louana might find herself capable of having romantic feelings again...
On a side note, I wonder if having characters Lauren and Ambrose date was a small nod to actress Lauren Ambrose.

An unexpected and delightful story of love and loss and how to move forward and believe in love again. It certainly delved into themes I wasn't expecting out of a book about weddings, and in that way was a lovely surprise. Sarah Dessen weaves nuggets of wisdom in her prose that I adore and I always walk away from one of her books with a lesson in mind. Great main character in Louna and nice side characters. Overall, just what I wanted to get out of a Dessen novel and more than I expected. 4.5 stars.
I seriously don’t know how she does it. Every. Time. Sarah Dessen is the perfect author to read from when you’re in the mood for contemporary fiction and never fails to impress you with her talents. Once and For All is more than just a love story, it’s a story meant to show you that life’s little moments are so much more important than the big ones, because ultimately it is the small moments that make up the major ones. Never take anything for granted, but also be grateful that it happened and made you the wonderful person that you are!

2.5 stars rounded down. it was a boring read.
and honestly i trudged through just to see if there were any development and/or if the plot would pick up but no. none of this happened.
louna is incredibly uninteresting. she’s getting over of her ex that she fell in love with within a few hours. it was just a little too convenient.
ambrose. argh he was terribly annoying and i hated his character. he was so stuck up and unlikeable and i didn’t care for him much at all from the very beginning because who flirts with a girl when their mother’s wedding was ABOUT TO BEGIN? no, i didn’t much care for him indeed.
and poor ben. #hedeservedbetter
i thought this would be a sweet, feel good romance, but it wasn’t. it was just a disappointing book that had two dimensional characters and an anti-climatic plot line.

This book made me so happy because I love weddings but hate the concept of marriage.
