Not what I was expecting, but you get some history, psychology and nostalgia all in one package. A fun and quick read.

Saggio a fumetti che racconta i legami tra il marketing e l'evoluzione dell'industria dei giocattoli.
Non male di contenuto, anche se mi aspettavo qualcosina di piĆ¹.

This goes really in-depth on a specific aspect of media literacy which the title only hints at. I grew up without TV so for me, parts of this are like an anthropological study of something that has baffled me for a while, although I totally got it once the topic got around to Star Wars.

With a bit of critical thinking, we can take Brian Brown's thesis a step further to think about other forms of media-centered nostalgia and confirmation bias. He does tough on propaganda at the beginning, mostly to examine how it fed into marketing of shows and toys, but... there's a lot to unpack here. I'll be thinking about this one for a while.

Fascinatingly disturbing. I am one of those kids who was born in the 70s and got obsessed with cartoon toys in the 80s. I guess you could say I am a casualty.
