In the beginning I found the book quite confusing. It might be because I read an Arc copy and overall this was mostly regarding minor details which became clearer later on.
The concept was interesting and the writing style was pleasant with nice observations of bits of daily life on a regular basis.
I'm not sure I liked the characters, it was difficult to understand who they really were and the end raised a lot of questions.

This book was beautifully written, it had a intense mysterious vibe throughout. When I read the first few chapters I fell in love. The story is complex, deep and despite its overall spooky vibe, heartfelt.
The multi character life span of the FMC was very different to what I am accustomed to with other fantasy novels, this one takes place more like a reincarnation vibe, but without the character actually dying. Dark and twisty. That's my go to book trope. This book nailed it on the head. Although I did get a little shook at the baby being killed at breakfast in the diner scene.
If you are sensitive to violence, gore, cults, anything like that, this book is not for you. If you love strong badass female leads, with a journey to fulfil, fated romance-ish?, witty dialogue, modern day settings, ghosts, bodyjacking; then Eris is the book for you.
I found the story thought provoking due to the nature of the FMC situation. It really made me question, what it is to be human? In all that we face in our lives, the daily grind, we become more robotic and less human than ever before. What isolation and loneliness can do to a persons soul, who then in turn begins to become a ghost of them self, drifting this planet affecting others either positively or negatively in their wake.
Like I said, very deep and complex. Maybe that's just me though. I think to much.
Anyway, this is one I will recommend because it was charming and funny, I loved the world Draven has created, I would love to see more from the other characters POVs but that's a me thing.
I look forward to reading any of Dravens other books I can get my grubby hands on!

Thank you for the ARC.
I have mixed feelings about the book - there were parts I loved, but there were a few parts where I thought about giving up.
I loved the concept of the story and I really liked the last third of the book, but there were parts of the book where I was really confused. Sometimes a scene would just come from nowhere and change what I thought was going on and I would find myself flipping back a few pages in case I had missed something. It happened often enough for me to wonder if that was deliberate, so I was as confused as Ami about what was happening.
Overall I enjoyed this book. It looks like there will be a sequel and I am looking forward to finding out what will happen next
