The Good Counselor by Rachel Alexander

I loved the first two in this series. And I even appreciate the messed up relationship between Zeus and Hera. But introducing the BDSM dynamic between them and using it only as a tool to reinforce how messed up they both are was my last straw. It’s using a dynamic that is actually VERY special and brings people CLOSER in a way that demeans it and only reinforces all the negatives about their relationship. Using a BDSM relationship in this way tells me the author doesn’t understand these dynamics at ALL and it’s insulting to people who choose those dynamics and who are in HEALTHY consensual dynamics. I’m really sad to DNF this but that scene made me sick to read and not in the way she intended. Sad to see another author delve into this subject matter only for shock value but not bothering to actually learn about the dynamic and what it looks like in healthy relationships.

Omg this book was just amazing! I loved it even more than the first two. I was absolutely blown away by this book. It was so brilliantly written. I can’t even find the words to express how much I enjoyed this book. I also loved the interactions between the various gods and goddesses. There were so many amazing scenes! Absolutely blown away!

The Good Counselor is heartbreaking.  Hades and Persephone go through a lot together and on their own.  Some things happen that
almost break up their marriage, yet they work through their issues.  Persephone also realizes that she's finally pregnant with her and Hades' children.
The Good Counselor ended on a happy note and I can't wait to read the fourth one!!

please tell me there’s more

I can’t handle how good this trilogy is. I can only hope there’s more in the works! I’ve now recommended this series to literally every person I know!

Brilliant writing, great research, and you can tell how much thought behind adapting each myth is there.
