This book is about a series of violent murders by the Southern Strangler. It's a fairly fast-paced novel with lots of twists.
I think this is the first novel I've read by J.T. Ellison and well, let's just say I wasn't at all disappointed. I loved the book the entire way through. Ellison left me completely curious after every page and I'd just keep reading no matter what else I was supposed to be doing. After the first 30 or so pages I was completely hooked and hard-pressed to put it down.
The characters intrigued me, they had quite a bit of baggage. Taylor Jackson (the main character), was my favorite. She was just so.. captivating? I'm not sure of the word I'm looking for. LOL.
The plot was unforgettable. I was so sure of who the Southern Strangler was after it was brought to my attention who it could be. I had this instinct that that character was the strangler. Unfortunately, my instincts were wrong. :( Ellison kept me guessing nearly to the very end.
I loved this book and I recommend it to EVERYONE!

Lt Taylor Jackson is hunting a serial killer who is traveling the south. Dr. Baldwin, a FBI profiler, is by her side (at work and at home). Add in a local report who is not sharing info with the police and a local rapist - Rainman. Her plate is full but her team is tops.
I liked the characters and will read more about Taylor. I recommend this series!

Loved rereading this book! So good, so enjoyable, after reading Field of Graves! Need to reread more!

Excellent book, great start of a series, with a great plot, and a great murderer, in that he was someone that you never would've expected. Loved it!

Good Solid mystery series, I am looking forward to continuing with the characters.
Really a 3.5. I rounded up.
Crime has been slow, so Taylor Jackson's entire team turns out when they receive a report that the body of a young woman has been dumped in their territory. As they are gathering data, Taylor's secret lover, FBI profiler John Baldwin shows up to claim the case. This woman is the victim of a serial killer nicknamed the Southern Strangler.
Good story. Interesting characters. This is the first in a series and very often the first book is a little weak as it is introducing all of the characters. That may be the reason for the .5. There was at least one unnecessary soap opera moment to force Taylor to examine her relationship with John. In fact, a lot of time was spent with both Taylor and John thinking about how much they loved each other and what should happen next.
Still a good book and I would like to continue with the series.

It's an okay murder mystery with a fast paced story with a lot of victims and a quite predictable ending.
