What a read and 100% lives up to the genre Thriller.

ICU nurse Meghan is trying to balance work, being divorced and a teenaged daughter all on her own. It isn't going well when she ends up too close and personal with her new ICU patient, Caitlyn.

The prologue grabs you hard, though it does make the first 9 chapters a 'slow' read. But once you get there you better want to hold on to your seat and plan not to put it down again until you reach the end. I seriously cannot tell you anything about the story details without ruining something which makes this so hard to write.

I will note the Author was on key with the suspense, the story, the whole works. It was a smooth read.

One more note that for me I like obvious jumps in time with a line of *** but this one is just double line space. Took me a few gaps to finally click on.

She’s Not Sorry is the kind of thriller you can easily inhale in one sitting — fast-paced, twisty, and just messy enough to keep things fun. It follows Meghan Michaels, an ICU nurse in Chicago juggling a demanding job and life as a single mom to a teenage daughter. When a new patient, Caitlin, is rushed into the hospital after falling from a bridge and landing on the train tracks, it initially looks like a tragic suicide attempt. But when a witness comes forward suggesting Caitlin may have been pushed, everything changes.

Meghan, who usually keeps a professional distance from her patients, finds herself pulled deeper and deeper into Caitlin’s life — and by extension, into a web of secrets, lies, and danger. The deeper she digs, the more she puts herself and her daughter at risk. What starts as a nurse trying to help becomes a chilling race to uncover the truth before it’s too late.

What I really enjoyed about this book is the pacing. Mary Kubica knows how to keep you turning pages, and there’s a steady undercurrent of tension that builds with each chapter. Just when I thought I had a handle on the plot, a twist came barreling in and completely shifted my expectations. It’s the kind of thriller that thrives on misdirection and surprise — some of the reveals feel a little wild, but that’s part of the fun.

That said, there were a few loose threads and moments where character motivations felt a bit underdeveloped. I would’ve liked a deeper dive into some of the secondary characters and their choices, especially as the stakes got higher. But those are minor gripes in what was otherwise a super engaging, adrenaline-fueled read.

If you’re into thrillers with emotional depth, a strong female lead, and twists that’ll catch you off guard, She’s Not Sorry is worth picking up. It’s perfect for fans of authors like Kimberly Belle or Lisa Jewell — stories that balance domestic suspense with high-stakes danger and a touch of real-world grit.
