This was possibly one of the most ridiculous thrillers I’ve read - everything you could throw into it was in it: alcoholism, child abuse, amorality, paranoia, death of child, death of parents, kidnapping, theft, divorce, predation, serial rape, cyber crimes, impersonation, coma, gaslighting, infidelity, catfishing, revenge, false arrests, domestic violence, pedophilia, murder, revenge, sociopathy, suicide, malpractice, and the list goes on and on.

Any trigger that could’ve been dreamt up was in the story one way or another. After a while, it started getting funny, and I actually started enjoying the stupidity of it all. This might be my one and only Mary Kubica read.

I sped through this book and it succeeded in having plot twists that were both shocking and made sense. I
equally struggle with and enjoy an unreliable narrator plot, and I think this did it really well. I genuinely didn't see it coming.
I do kind of feel like some details of the story and breadcrumbs didn't actually end up going anywhere, but I think that's sort of just to keep you guessing. I don't have much bad to say about this, but it just didn't give me that 5 star feeling :/

This was fine, honestly the beginning was so slow and boring and I felt like the character made since stupid decisions and actions. Like I get it, but at the same time no. Also I didn’t see the big twist coming, but I feel like you kind of couldn’t? Maybe it’s because I was listening to the audiobook, but it all felt like the same timeline, which is the point, but still. Also the daughter was so annoying to be honest. I feel like there was too many plots happening because who would care about the rapist, which wasn’t a shock for me. As for the ending with Ben, like idk that just felt dumb because what would his motives be for going along with both these women’s  lies etc. anyways, this isn’t  worst of her books I’ve read, but it’s certainly not the best. Also the nursing stuff like I don’t know I don’t think you would be hired back to be honest.

Quick read and entertaining despite being predictable.

She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica is a very slow-paced thriller which did not really get going until nearly 2/3rds of the way into reading it but when the twist in the tale came, it completely threw me for a loop! I did not see it coming and it was completely unexpected.

It did, however, make sense with the book title and the slow building of the story and the development of the characters. But, there were quite a few loose threads at the end and it did not come to a "fitting conclusion" for me.

I owned a copy of this book and listened to it on Audible. I read this for the July 2024 Readalong for the 52 Book Club Reading Challenge 2024.
