Random thoughts about book. Full review @ Book 5

-The beginning was nice. We get to see new Vhalla in a sort of Book 1 setting, which the war took us away from.
-Librarian Vhalla was always my favorite.
-Jax joining Vhalla for all of 2 pages was enjoyable, but his "death" was written without any weight. When he comes back later, I did get that "I knew it" feeling.
-Vhalla is a total badass when she goes back to the capital.
-The tension between her and Aldrik is amazing.
-I'm glad Kova figured out what to do with Daniel, using them as friends rather than objects of jealousy.
-The princess is very interesting. I hope she gets some more screen time.
-Baldair's death was the worst. I was devastated by his slow decline in health. The final scene between him and Vhalla was heartbreaking. I truly wish Kova had not decided to use the death as a mechanism to further Vhalrik's character development.
-Victor >:( I can't say I saw this one coming, but now I hate him.

I was on chapter 24 our of 28, I was so very close to finishing this book without thinking "my god she's a stupid bitch", unfortunately, that was not to be. Forget wind, Vhalla's true affinity is for knowing something is wrong and still forge ahead while silencing her gut which I can only call stupidity and so instead of this ending feeling like an obstacle to overcome it feels deserved and I found myself disappointed the consequences weren't higher

I've really enjoyed this series, the world and the characters. Although in this 4th book I still see a lot of the characters still remain the same they've all had some sense of growth.
Just like always I tend to fly through the book fairly quickly due to the writing style but I do wish a bit more in the first half of the book would happen the second half does make up for it.

I did see the death of a certain character coming I thought it would happen either in the third or the last book but it did still hurt a whole lot.
I'm really curious to see how the final book will wrap everything up. As always Elise Kova's ending are beautiful heart breaking cliffhangers that leave you dying for more.

LISTEN, ELISE KOVA, I AM NOT HAPPY
SpoilerWhy did you have to kill off Baldair??? WHYYY THIS IS NOT FAIR

Elise Kova has me hooked and my blood pressure and anxiety incredibly high. This series is absolutely amazing, but it’s also an emotional roller coaster.

Beware, there is a major character death that sent me into a downward spiral and existential crisis, and I literally cried. I’m writing a letter to Mrs. Kova to let her know I did not appreciate what she did, she could have saved him and my heart.

Now Vhalla and Aldrick, with there small group of friends will have to battle to try to save the world they once knew. Odds seem to not be in their favor, but I’m sure they will pull through. Looking forward to what the Crystal Crowned has in store
