Decent

Good story line. Second book I've read about the mafia romance type. I enjoyed it. Maya definitely needed to stand up to her father and she finally did. Terrible way to be treated like that by her father. Johnny is her hero even tho he is the enemy. Enjoyable.

I got this book for an honest review.
I loved this book.
We first meet Johnny in a bar and he is a very full of himself man. He meets Maya and wants her like nobody's business, she turns him down and leaves. Her home life is horrible, her dad is the president of the MC and he isn't very nice, he controls everything she does so she retaliated by sneaking out and finding Johnny. They have one incredible night and it's over, neither wants to see the other again until Maya finds out that she's pregnant. She has to tell Johnny and when she does, he doesn't take it well and then decides that he wants the baby and she is going to marry him. This doesn't go well with her father and he attempts to kill her so she escapes and finds Johnny who says he will protect her as long as she marries him.
After this, I will let you find out for yourself but can say there is lots of action and drama.

I think this book had a good premise. I had high expectations and it just didn't follow through.

*sigh*

The title says it all. A girl gets pregnant, but there are many complications before they reach their HEA.

First off, the guy is a mafia boss who has an alliance with the local MC. Secondly, the girl's father is.. *drum roll please* the president of that MC who hates Italians. The book practically revolved around those complications. If they weren't having hot, sweaty moments, they were arguing about the mafia life or the MC life. Things happened so fast that I just couldn't keep up. The MC president's anger wasn't fully explained too. I couldn't understand why he's so violent that he'd kill his own daughter. -_-

I also had a problem understanding the girl's character. I mean, there's saying NO and there's saying NO which actually means yes. She's easily persuaded, but she acts all tough. Gave me a whiplash really! Her stubbornness is what got her to that situation. She knows it and yet she still continue being one. I just.. I can't stand..

Errr okay so long story short, I didn't like her. Nor did I like the guy. I finished this just to see how their HEA will work out. To me it was awkward.

Anyway, maybe this story just isn't for me.

3 out of 5 stars.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First Impressions
Cover: Nice. I really like the tattoos and the overall demeanor of the model--it fits Johnny's character very well. The colors are nice and the lettering is bold, which immediately draws your attention.
Synopsis: "The last thing I need is a wife and kid.

The only settling down I do is at night, when I take a girl home to f*ck. I get laid to unwind from the chaos in my life. I live to hear them scream my name, but one night is all they get.

One night was all I needed.

Until I knocked up Maya.

It was supposed to be one night. But one wild night made me want another, and another. I’m addicted to every inch of her body. Now that I have her, I can’t let her go. I thought I never wanted a family, but now I can’t imagine life without one.

Only, there’s a problem.

Her father wants me dead.

I didn’t know she was his daughter.
I don’t give a damn.
She’s mine. Our child is mine. I protect what's mine.
Even if it means war." (GoodReads 2015)

Let me start by saying Vanessa is a gem of a woman. I've only interacted with her a couple times, but I can tell she is very kind-hearted and passionate about her work. I admire these traits greatly. She is a very talented woman; a wonderful writer.
That being said, my only real problem with this book is I felt there was far too much descriptive sex. To me, it took away from the storyline and got a little old after a while--to the point where I skipped past quite a bit of it. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy romance novels--it's one of my preferred genres--but when there's more sex than what I personally feel is necessary, it's difficult for me to fully enjoy the book to its full potential. Obviously from the title alone, you recognize that this will be a sexually-explicit book, I just feel it was a bit too explicit for my taste. As stated, this is simply personal preference. I've read many good reviews on this book where the reader loved all of the sex scenes. To each his own.
So, to sum up, this is a good book if you're looking for a unique storyline, but be prepared for lots of sexual encounters. If you're into that sort of thing, then this is the book for you. If you would rather stay away from such explicit themes, I would suggest you stay away from this book. I will say, though this can be read as a standalone, I would like to read the first book in the series, Married To The Bad Boy, as I'm curious to this story (a couple of the characters from this novel made an appearance in Knocked Up By The Bad Boy) and I do enjoy Vanessa's writing. From the small appearances by the characters from the first novel, I think I would probably enjoy the first one a little more. The characters seem a bit less harsh, but I suppose that is something to be decided when that book is read.

Gritty

I usually can not stand overly aggressive guys and scrappy bikers, but this was followed by married to the bad boy and I couldn't resist. Ill say I liked this one better than MTTBB because, Johnny is the boss..and sexy and arrogant and conserving dominate in a good way. I'm waiting for more by Vanessa!

This book was a complete and total waste of my time. I just don't understand women like Maya who loves her independence but cannot stay away from controlling men who have no respect for her. She has no sense of self but wants to stand on her two feet. I don't get it.
And don't get me started on Johnny. He was horrible. No other word for it. He was like a little spoilt child who keeps throwing tantrums whenever he does not get his way. There was not even a single character trait that I could accept let alone love in this character. He has no respect for women ( calls every single one of them broads even his wife. Its a term which I hate in reference to women), has no problem hurting them or treating them like shit, has no respect for the idea of family yet wants one of his own because everybody else seems to have one and has no problem killing people at the drop of a hat.
I am regretting my decision to read this book and I recommend it to NO ONE.
