Lovely, lovely, LOVELY book about imagination and play. Quick read, great for storytime, exceptionally colorful and engaging illustrations and a black girl protagonist

I still have vague, warm memories of our refrigerator box. Ours did not transform into as many different things as Grace’s refrigerator box, but it was a serviceable play house for the yard that we decorated and hung out in for days? weeks? Regardless, I have fond memories.

Grace transforms her refrigerator box into a new adventure every day. When the box gets a little worn, the box becomes a patient, and then, with a little bit of extra cardboard and colored tape, Grace slaps on a couple skin grafts and the crew is out adventuring again.

An ode to imagination that we all could take inspiration from.
