Not for me, sorry. The concept sounded great and I liked the love interest, but I couldn't stand the main character at all. Also, people have pointed out that it's poorly researched in terms of setting. I think it's kinda unrealistic in terms of the MC's acting studies as well. I got my BFA in acting and I tell you, it's *very* hard to fail all your acting classes, especially in the first semester. Instructors usually rate on effort, craft, and commitment, not on talent, so the whole premise of him not being talented enough and hence failing? I don't know. I didn't go to NYU, but that seems very antithetical to what freshman acting classes are like.

I was looking for a short, festive read, and this book delivered an entertaining story that reminded me of a lesson I learned during my first year of university: it’s okay not to have your sh*t together at 18 and let life guide you on your journey. It’s incredibly Christmasy, undeniably cheesy, but also genuinely heartwarming. I even teared up a few times! I listened to the audiobook in tandem with the ebook and finished it in about three hours. So, if you have chores to tackle or a reeeally long commute and you’re in the mood for a Hallmark-style Christmas romance, this is the perfect pick for a cozy afternoon or evening.

I am rating this one 3.25 stars . It got somewhat better but I spent most of the book hating the main character Cam. I liked the elf contest plot line . It was really fun . I also loved Marco and Cam's dad . I just felt disappointed because I was really excited to read this one.

How I ended up reading this in the middle of April is unknown. This radiated “you can write anything your heart desires” as I would have never thought of this plot.

I didn’t particularly take a liking to the main character. Honestly I think probably every other elf could have been interesting…a goth mormon? I’m fascinated!

Not gonna lie i forgot to write a review for this book. it was cute, didn’t take itself too seriously. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration. I guess it was kinda too predictable for me so towards the end I kinda just skimmed it because I already predicted what was going to happen. If you like cute queer holiday books that have predictable romance plots then this is definitely a quick read.
