I enjoyed this book like all of Pratchetts work but it didn't live up to the other quality of the city watch series imo. The romance between carrot and Angua feels wierd as it's the main focus of her character and she feels like alot more of a character introduced for carrot than her own person, I'm glad that seems to change later on in the series but it does feel a bit dated compared to the usual quality of Pratchetts writing. However the relationship between detritus and cuddy was fantastic and cuddy's death was one of the most surprising in discworld
